FIS NK World Cup to visit Val di Fiemme next 12, 13 and 14 January
Two Individual Gundersen and a Team Sprint races in three days
Ski Jumping Stadium and XC Skiing Arena prepare for the show
Frenzel, Rydzek and the Italian squad awaited at the start
The new FIS Nordic Combined World Cup calendar has been announced. World's best athletes will gather in Ruka (FIN) next 24 November for the first event of the new season and will once again visit Italy's Val di Fiemme in January (12-14). After the Olympic break (from 9 to 25 February), the circuit will end in Schonach (GER) at the end of March.
Both the Italian Ski Jumping and Cross Country Skiing stadiums in Trentino region will dress up and warmly welcome the World event along with the local Nordic Ski Fiemme OC, for two Individual Gundersen and a Team Sprint events.
Eric Frenzel will certainly be the man to beat, the man who already raised five titles and is ready to hunt the sixth soon. His compatriot Johannes Rydzek represents the toughest opponent, although Italy's Samuel Costa and Alessandro Pittin won't just sit down and relax as in Val di Fiemme they were able to wear a bronze medal last January (Team Sprint).
The WC calendar in Val di Fiemme reads as follows:
Friday 01/12/18 – Gundersen HS134/10 km
Saturday 01/13/18 – Team sprint HS134/2×7,5 km
Sunday 14/01/18 – Gundersen HS134/10 km
